SmotheredI wonder how long you can continue  to swallow and not die  eyes frantic, flared wide  sucking down your nectar  without missing a drop  licking the side of the can  desperate for every ounce  of ambrosia   
I watch as the poison fills your skin  and spills out your tinted eyes  with highways stretched  across what used to be white  staring at your shaking hand that reaches  so desperately  for the first love of the morning  and I wonder  what you could've been  by redirecting all the energy  
you drown in foam

Fahrenheiti feel the hot sun shimmering  through whip curled red strands  whisking across my pinkened face  to stick in max factor eyelashes  and glue to bonnie bell lips  summer sweat slickens  the leather on the steering wheel  degree and loreal fill my nose  airy cotton, silk, and scraps of denim  stroke my skin  as the rubber pedal catches  on my bare instep  and my free foot slides  across the carpeted floor mat  slipping me down a little lower  in the beige driver's seat   
acceleration sometimes has nothing  to do with the gas pedal
